Field Investigation
Dongjiang River and its tributaries are polluted primarily due to disposal of raw domestic and industrial sawage, solid waste and other sources. Main contributing factors for the degradation of river water quality are observed as urbanization, unmanaged poultry and pig farms stock activities, direct disposal of sewage to rivers.
Sampling point Selection
Considering the objective and scope of the research study, a walk over survey has been carried out and visible pollution sources disposal points and confluence points were fixed out on the google image given below. Location of 20 number of sampling points have been selected on the basis of increase or decrease the pollution sources, pollutants, flow, dilution, mixing and other possible change in physical, chemical and micro-biological characteristics of water and waste water.
